Extreme slowness #6230

Version 5.0 of JabRef is extremely slow on my Windows machine. It takes mabye 30 seconds to start up, and then, when I'm typing an entry comment the lag between when I hit a key and when the key shows up in JabRef is excruciating.

  • This is after rebooting, etc. to see if anything else was slowing down my PC
  • my bib file has 2127 entries
  • I didn't notice this slowness in JabRef 4.x

Duplicate of #5071 (and various other performance-related issues).

Probably related, but my case is even more extreme. I've got way fewer bibtex entries, and I'm not even searching. I'm just typing in comments.

I also have this from time to time. Not sure where it comes from.

Lets keep #5071 to track the performance issues in general.

JabRef 5.1--2020-04-25--41b1705 is much faster. There's no speed problem for me anymore.
