Userspace parses this and sets the ro.boot.verifiedbootstate prop according to the value that this flag has. When ro.boot.verifiedbootstate is not 'green', SafetyNet is tripped and fails the CTS test. Hide verifiedbootstate from /proc/cmdline in order to fix the failed SafetyNet CTS check.
SafetyNet checks androidboot.veritymode in Nougat, so remove it. Additionally, remove androidboot.enable_dm_verity and androidboot.secboot in case SafetyNet will check them in the future. Signed-off-by: Sultanxda <sultanxda@gmail.com>

This driver boosts enumerated devfreq devices upon input, and allows for boosting specific devfreq devices on other custom events. The boost frequencies for this driver should be set so that frame drops are near-zero at the boosted frequencies and power consumption is minimized at said frequencies. The goal of this driver is to provide an interface to achieve optimal device performance by requesting boosts on key events, such as when a frame is ready to rendered to the display. Currently, support is only present for boosting the cpubw devfreq device, but the driver is structured in a way that makes it easy to add support for new boostable devfreq devices in the future. This scales up way too easily, it needs to be tuned.
Values range from 0-3, 0 off, 3 most aggressive. Scales back nicely in 2d to 133mhz. Only scale up and count if MIN_VALUE crossed
It does not make sense to run kgsl on high and devfreq on regular priority. Change-Id: Ie5e6c9353a4e1324a6a49278e5ad3638462f551c Signed-off-by: flar2 <asegaert@gmail.com>
On devices with a CPU that contains heterogeneous cores (e.g., big.LITTLE), it can be beneficial to place some performance-critical IRQs and kthreads onto the performance CPU cluster in order to improve performance. This commit adds the following APIs: -kthread_run_perf_critical() to create and start a perf-critical kthread -IRQF_PERF_CRITICAL to schedule an IRQ and any threads it may have onto performance CPUs -PF_PERF_CRITICAL to mark a process (mainly a kthread) as performance critical (this is used by kthread_run_perf_critical()) In order to accommodate this new API, the following changes are made: -Performance-critical IRQs have their affinities reaffined upon exit from suspend (since the affinities are broken when non-boot CPUs are disabled) -Performance-critical IRQs and their threads have their affinities reset upon entering suspend, so that upon immediate suspend exit (when only the boot CPU is online), interrupts can be processed and interrupt threads can be scheduled onto an online CPU (otherwise we'd hit a kernel BUG) -do_set_cpus_allowed() and __set_cpus_allowed_ptr() are modified to enforce a performance-critical kthread's affinity -Mark perf-critical IRQs with IRQD_AFFINITY_MANAGED so userspace can't mess with their affinity Signed-off-by: Sultan Alsawaf <sultan@kerneltoast.com> Signed-off-by: kdrag0n <dragon@khronodragon.com>
Some unimportant kthreads do not need high-performance and can safely be bound to low-power CPUs for energy efficiency. This commit adds an API to create kthreads bound to low-power CPUs. This affinity cannot be altered by the kernel or userspace. This extends the performance-critical kthread support introduced in commit c4a0ef7e1d1e ("kernel: Add API to mark IRQs and kthreads as performance critical"). Signed-off-by: Danny Lin <danny@kdrag0n.dev>
Add cpu_lp_mask and cpu_perf_mask to represent the CPUs that belong to each cluster in a dual-cluster, heterogeneous system. Note that this assumes that CONFIG_NR_CPUS is set to exatly the number of CPUs present, and that the number of CPUs per cluster is split evenly in half.

…empts commit 18dfa7117a3f379862dcd3f67cadd678013bb9dd upstream. The lock_extent_buffer_io() returns 1 to the caller to tell it everything went fine and the callers needs to start writeback for the extent buffer (submit a bio, etc), 0 to tell the caller everything went fine but it does not need to start writeback for the extent buffer, and a negative value if some error happened. When it's about to return 1 it tries to lock all pages, and if a try lock on a page fails, and we didn't flush any existing bio in our "epd", it calls flush_write_bio(epd) and overwrites the return value of 1 to 0 or an error. The page might have been locked elsewhere, not with the goal of starting writeback of the extent buffer, and even by some code other than btrfs, like page migration for example, so it does not mean the writeback of the extent buffer was already started by some other task, so returning a 0 tells the caller (btree_write_cache_pages()) to not start writeback for the extent buffer. Note that epd might currently have either no bio, so flush_write_bio() returns 0 (success) or it might have a bio for another extent buffer with a lower index (logical address). Since we return 0 with the EXTENT_BUFFER_WRITEBACK bit set on the extent buffer and writeback is never started for the extent buffer, future attempts to writeback the extent buffer will hang forever waiting on that bit to be cleared, since it can only be cleared after writeback completes. Such hang is reported with a trace like the following: [49887.347053] INFO: task btrfs-transacti:1752 blocked for more than 122 seconds. [49887.347059] Not tainted 5.2.13-gentoo #2 [49887.347060] "echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message. We also need to clear the EXTENT_BUFFER_WRITEBACK bit in case flush_write_bio() returns an error, otherwise it will hang any future attempts to writeback the extent buffer, and undo all work done before (set back EXTENT_BUFFER_DIRTY, etc). This is a regression introduced in the 5.2 kernel. commit 190113b4c6531c8e09b31d5235f9b5175cbb0f72 upstream. Prarit reported that depending on the affinity setting the ' irq $N: Affinity broken due to vector space exhaustion.' message is showing up in dmesg, but the vector space on the CPUs in the affinity mask is definitely not exhausted. Shung-Hsi provided traces and analysis which pinpoints the problem: The ordering of trying to assign an interrupt vector in assign_irq_vector_any_locked() is simply wrong if the interrupt data has a valid node assigned. It does: 1) Try the intersection of affinity mask and node mask 2) Try the node mask 3) Try the full affinity mask 4) Try the full online mask Obviously #2 and #3 are in the wrong order as the requested affinity mask has to take precedence. In the observed cases #1 failed because the affinity mask did not contain CPUs from node 0. That made it allocate a vector from node 0, thereby breaking affinity and emitting the misleading message. Revert the order of #2 and #3 so the full affinity mask without the node intersection is tried before actually affinity is broken. If no node is assigned then only the full affinity mask and if that fails the full online mask is tried. …d ops [ Upstream commit 52719fce3f4c7a8ac9eaa191e8d75a697f9fbcbc ] There are three ways pseries_suspend_begin() can be reached: 1. When "mem" is written to /sys/power/state: kobj_attr_store() -> state_store() -> pm_suspend() -> suspend_devices_and_enter() -> pseries_suspend_begin() This never works because there is no way to supply a valid stream id using this interface, and H_VASI_STATE is called with a stream id of zero. So this call path is useless at best. 2. When a stream id is written to /sys/devices/system/power/hibernate. pseries_suspend_begin() is polled directly from store_hibernate() until the stream is in the "Suspending" state (i.e. the platform is ready for the OS to suspend execution): dev_attr_store() -> store_hibernate() -> pseries_suspend_begin() 3. When a stream id is written to /sys/devices/system/power/hibernate (continued). After #2, pseries_suspend_begin() is called once again from the pm core: dev_attr_store() -> store_hibernate() -> pm_suspend() -> suspend_devices_and_enter() -> pseries_suspend_begin() This is redundant because the VASI suspend state is already known to be Suspending. The begin() callback of platform_suspend_ops is optional, so we can simply remove that assignment with no loss of function. The raw data contains an u32 size prefix so the data size should have an u32 padding after 8-byte aligned data. 27: Sample parsing :util/synthetic-events.c:1539:4: runtime error: store to misaligned address 0x62100006b9bc for type '__u64' (aka 'unsigned long long'), which requires 8 byte alignment 0x62100006b9bc: note: pointer points here 00 00 00 00 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ^ #0 0x561532a9fc96 in perf_event__synthesize_sample util/synthetic-events.c:1539:13 #1 0x5615327f4a4f in do_test tests/sample-parsing.c:284:8 #2 0x5615327f3f50 in test__sample_parsing tests/sample-parsing.c:381:9 #3 0x56153279d3a1 in run_test tests/builtin-test.c:424:9 #4 0x56153279c836 in test_and_print tests/builtin-test.c:454:9 #5 0x56153279b7eb in __cmd_test tests/builtin-test.c:675:4 #6 0x56153279abf0 in cmd_test tests/builtin-test.c:821:9 #7 0x56153264e796 in run_builtin perf.c:312:11 #8 0x56153264cf03 in handle_internal_command perf.c:364:8 #9 0x56153264e47d in run_argv perf.c:408:2 #10 0x56153264c9a9 in main perf.c:538:3 #11 0x7f137ab6fbbc in __libc_start_main (/lib64/libc.so.6+0x38bbc) #12 0x561532596828 in _start ... From: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com> commit 3f618ab3323407ee4c6a6734a37eb6e9663ebfb9 upstream. When building with KASAN and LKDTM, clang may implictly generate an asan.module_ctor function in the LKDTM rodata object. The Makefile moves the lkdtm_rodata_do_nothing() function into .rodata by renaming the file's .text section to .rodata, and consequently also moves the ctor function into .rodata, leading to a boot time crash (splat below) when the ctor is invoked by do_ctors(). Let's prevent this by marking the function as noinstr rather than notrace, and renaming the file's .noinstr.text to .rodata. Marking the function as noinstr will prevent tracing and kprobes, and will inhibit any undesireable compiler instrumentation. The ctor function (if any) will be placed in .text and will work correctly. Example splat before this patch is applied: [ 0.916359] Unable to handle kernel execute from non-executable memory at virtual address ffffa0006b60f5ac [ 0.922088] Mem abort info: [ 0.922828] ESR = 0x8600000e [ 0.923635] EC = 0x21: IABT (current EL), IL = 32 bits [ 0.925036] SET = 0, FnV = 0 [ 0.925838] EA = 0, S1PTW = 0 [ 0.926714] swapper pgtable: 4k pages, 48-bit VAs, pgdp=00000000427b3000 [ 0.928489] [ffffa0006b60f5ac] pgd=000000023ffff003, p4d=000000023ffff003, pud=000000023fffe003, pmd=0068000042000f01 [ 0.931330] Internal error: Oops: 8600000e [#1] PREEMPT SMP [ 0.932806] Modules linked in: [ 0.933617] CPU: 0 PID: 1 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 5.10.0-rc7 #2 [ 0.935620] Hardware name: linux,dummy-virt (DT) [ 0.936924] pstate: 40400005 (nZcv daif +PAN -UAO -TCO BTYPE=--) [ 0.938609] pc : asan.module_ctor+0x0/0x14 [ 0.939759] lr : do_basic_setup+0x4c/0x70 [ 0.940889] sp : ffff27b600177e30 [ 0.941815] x29: ffff27b600177e30 x28: 0000000000000000 [ 0.943306] x27: 0000000000000000 x26: 0000000000000000 [ 0.944803] x25: 0000000000000000 x24: 0000000000000000 [ 0.946289] x23: 0000000000000001 x22: 0000000000000000 [ 0.947777] x21: ffffa0006bf4a890 x20: ffffa0006befb6c0 [ 0.949271] x19: ffffa0006bef9358 x18: 0000000000000068 [ 0.950756] x17: fffffffffffffff8 x16: 0000000000000000 [ 0.952246] x15: 0000000000000000 x14: 0000000000000000 [ 0.953734] x13: 00000000838a16d5 x12: 0000000000000001 [ 0.955223] x11: ffff94000da74041 x10: dfffa00000000000 [ 0.956715] x9 : 0000000000000000 x8 : ffffa0006b60f5ac [ 0.958199] x7 : f9f9f9f9f9f9f9f9 x6 : 000000000000003f [ 0.959683] x5 : 0000000000000040 x4 : 0000000000000000 [ 0.961178] x3 : ffffa0006bdc15a0 x2 : 0000000000000005 [ 0.962662] x1 : 00000000000000f9 x0 : ffffa0006bef9350 [ 0.964155] Call trace: [ 0.964844] asan.module_ctor+0x0/0x14 [ 0.965895] kernel_init_freeable+0x158/0x198 [ 0.967115] kernel_init+0x14/0x19c [ 0.968104] ret_from_fork+0x10/0x30 [ 0.969110] Code: 00000003 00000000 00000000 00000000 (00000000) [ 0.970815] ---[ end trace b5339784e20d015c ]--- Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Cc: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Cc: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org> Acked-by: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20201207170533.10738-1-mark.rutland@arm.com Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: Nicolas Boichat <drinkcat@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

commit c7de87ff9dac5f396f62d584f3908f80ddc0e07b upstream. [ This problem is in mainline, but only rt has the chops to be able to detect it. ] Lockdep reports a circular lock dependency between serv->sv_lock and softirq_ctl.lock on system shutdown, when using a kernel built with CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT=y, and a nfs mount exists. This is due to the definition of spin_lock_bh on rt: local_bh_disable(); rt_spin_lock(lock); which forces a softirq_ctl.lock -> serv->sv_lock dependency. This is not a problem as long as _every_ lock of serv->sv_lock is a: spin_lock_bh(&serv->sv_lock); but there is one of the form: spin_lock(&serv->sv_lock); This is what is causing the circular dependency splat. The spin_lock() grabs the lock without first grabbing softirq_ctl.lock via local_bh_disable. If later on in the critical region, someone does a local_bh_disable, we get a serv->sv_lock -> softirq_ctrl.lock dependency established. Deadlock. Fix is to make serv->sv_lock be locked with spin_lock_bh everywhere, no exceptions. [ OK ] Stopped target NFS client services. Stopping Logout off all iSCSI sessions on shutdown... Stopping NFS server and services... The raw data contains an u32 size prefix so the data size should have an u32 padding after 8-byte aligned data. 27: Sample parsing :util/synthetic-events.c:1539:4: runtime error: store to misaligned address 0x62100006b9bc for type '__u64' (aka 'unsigned long long'), which requires 8 byte alignment 0x62100006b9bc: note: pointer points here 00 00 00 00 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ^ #0 0x561532a9fc96 in perf_event__synthesize_sample util/synthetic-events.c:1539:13 #1 0x5615327f4a4f in do_test tests/sample-parsing.c:284:8 #2 0x5615327f3f50 in test__sample_parsing tests/sample-parsing.c:381:9 #3 0x56153279d3a1 in run_test tests/builtin-test.c:424:9 #4 0x56153279c836 in test_and_print tests/builtin-test.c:454:9 #5 0x56153279b7eb in __cmd_test tests/builtin-test.c:675:4 #6 0x56153279abf0 in cmd_test tests/builtin-test.c:821:9 #7 0x56153264e796 in run_builtin perf.c:312:11 #8 0x56153264cf03 in handle_internal_command perf.c:364:8 #9 0x56153264e47d in run_argv perf.c:408:2 #10 0x56153264c9a9 in main perf.c:538:3 #11 0x7f137ab6fbbc in __libc_start_main (/lib64/libc.so.6+0x38bbc) #12 0x561532596828 in _start ... From: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com> commit 3f618ab3323407ee4c6a6734a37eb6e9663ebfb9 upstream. When building with KASAN and LKDTM, clang may implictly generate an asan.module_ctor function in the LKDTM rodata object. The Makefile moves the lkdtm_rodata_do_nothing() function into .rodata by renaming the file's .text section to .rodata, and consequently also moves the ctor function into .rodata, leading to a boot time crash (splat below) when the ctor is invoked by do_ctors(). Let's prevent this by marking the function as noinstr rather than notrace, and renaming the file's .noinstr.text to .rodata. Marking the function as noinstr will prevent tracing and kprobes, and will inhibit any undesireable compiler instrumentation. The ctor function (if any) will be placed in .text and will work correctly. Example splat before this patch is applied: [ 0.916359] Unable to handle kernel execute from non-executable memory at virtual address ffffa0006b60f5ac [ 0.922088] Mem abort info: [ 0.922828] ESR = 0x8600000e [ 0.923635] EC = 0x21: IABT (current EL), IL = 32 bits [ 0.925036] SET = 0, FnV = 0 [ 0.925838] EA = 0, S1PTW = 0 [ 0.926714] swapper pgtable: 4k pages, 48-bit VAs, pgdp=00000000427b3000 [ 0.928489] [ffffa0006b60f5ac] pgd=000000023ffff003, p4d=000000023ffff003, pud=000000023fffe003, pmd=0068000042000f01 [ 0.931330] Internal error: Oops: 8600000e [#1] PREEMPT SMP [ 0.932806] Modules linked in: [ 0.933617] CPU: 0 PID: 1 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 5.10.0-rc7 #2 [ 0.935620] Hardware name: linux,dummy-virt (DT) [ 0.936924] pstate: 40400005 (nZcv daif +PAN -UAO -TCO BTYPE=--) [ 0.938609] pc : asan.module_ctor+0x0/0x14 [ 0.939759] lr : do_basic_setup+0x4c/0x70 [ 0.940889] sp : ffff27b600177e30 [ 0.941815] x29: ffff27b600177e30 x28: 0000000000000000 [ 0.943306] x27: 0000000000000000 x26: 0000000000000000 [ 0.944803] x25: 0000000000000000 x24: 0000000000000000 [ 0.946289] x23: 0000000000000001 x22: 0000000000000000 [ 0.947777] x21: ffffa0006bf4a890 x20: ffffa0006befb6c0 [ 0.949271] x19: ffffa0006bef9358 x18: 0000000000000068 [ 0.950756] x17: fffffffffffffff8 x16: 0000000000000000 [ 0.952246] x15: 0000000000000000 x14: 0000000000000000 [ 0.953734] x13: 00000000838a16d5 x12: 0000000000000001 [ 0.955223] x11: ffff94000da74041 x10: dfffa00000000000 [ 0.956715] x9 : 0000000000000000 x8 : ffffa0006b60f5ac [ 0.958199] x7 : f9f9f9f9f9f9f9f9 x6 : 000000000000003f [ 0.959683] x5 : 0000000000000040 x4 : 0000000000000000 [ 0.961178] x3 : ffffa0006bdc15a0 x2 : 0000000000000005 [ 0.962662] x1 : 00000000000000f9 x0 : ffffa0006bef9350 [ 0.964155] Call trace: [ 0.964844] asan.module_ctor+0x0/0x14 [ 0.965895] kernel_init_freeable+0x158/0x198 [ 0.967115] kernel_init+0x14/0x19c [ 0.968104] ret_from_fork+0x10/0x30 [ 0.969110] Code: 00000003 00000000 00000000 00000000 (00000000) [ 0.970815] ---[ end trace b5339784e20d015c ]--- Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Cc: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Cc: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org> Acked-by: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20201207170533.10738-1-mark.rutland@arm.com Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: Nicolas Boichat <drinkcat@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

commit c7de87ff9dac5f396f62d584f3908f80ddc0e07b upstream. [ This problem is in mainline, but only rt has the chops to be able to detect it. ] Lockdep reports a circular lock dependency between serv->sv_lock and softirq_ctl.lock on system shutdown, when using a kernel built with CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT=y, and a nfs mount exists. This is due to the definition of spin_lock_bh on rt: local_bh_disable(); rt_spin_lock(lock); which forces a softirq_ctl.lock -> serv->sv_lock dependency. This is not a problem as long as _every_ lock of serv->sv_lock is a: spin_lock_bh(&serv->sv_lock); but there is one of the form: spin_lock(&serv->sv_lock); This is what is causing the circular dependency splat. The spin_lock() grabs the lock without first grabbing softirq_ctl.lock via local_bh_disable. If later on in the critical region, someone does a local_bh_disable, we get a serv->sv_lock -> softirq_ctrl.lock dependency established. Deadlock. Fix is to make serv->sv_lock be locked with spin_lock_bh everywhere, no exceptions. [ OK ] Stopped target NFS client services. Stopping Logout off all iSCSI sessions on shutdown... Stopping NFS server and services... commit 90bd070aae6c4fb5d302f9c4b9c88be60c8197ec upstream. The following deadlock is detected: truncate -> setattr path is waiting for pending direct IO to be done (inode->i_dio_count become zero) with inode->i_rwsem held (down_write). LLVM's integrated assembler appears to assume an argument with default value is passed whenever it sees a comma right after the macro name. It will be fine if the number of following arguments is one less than the number of parameters specified in the macro definition. Otherwise, it fails. For example, the following code works: $ cat foo.s .macro foo arg1=2, arg2=4 ldr r0, [r1, #\arg1] ldr r0, [r1, #\arg2] .endm foo, arg2=8 $ llvm-mc -triple=armv7a -filetype=obj foo.s -o ias.o arm-linux-gnueabihf-objdump -dr ias.o ias.o: file format elf32-littlearm Disassembly of section .text: 00000000 <.text>: 0: e5910001 ldr r0, [r1, #2] 4: e5910003 ldr r0, [r1, #8] While the the following code would fail: $ cat foo.s .macro foo arg1=2, arg2=4 ldr r0, [r1, #\arg1] ldr r0, [r1, #\arg2] .endm foo, arg1=2, arg2=8 $ llvm-mc -triple=armv7a -filetype=obj foo.s -o ias.o foo.s:6:14: error: too many positional arguments foo, arg1=2, arg2=8 This causes build failures as follows: arch/arm64/kernel/vdso/gettimeofday.S:230:24: error: too many positional arguments clock_gettime_return, shift=1 ^ arch/arm64/kernel/vdso/gettimeofday.S:253:24: error: too many positional arguments clock_gettime_return, shift=1 ^ arch/arm64/kernel/vdso/gettimeofday.S:274:24: error: too many positional arguments clock_gettime_return, shift=1 This error is not in mainline because commit 28b1a824a4f4 ("arm64: vdso: Substitute gettimeofday() with C implementation") rewrote this assembler file in C as part of a 25 patch series that is unsuitable for stable. Just remove the comma in the clock_gettime_return invocations in 4.19 so that GNU as and LLVM's integrated assembler work the same. This will confuse io_read that we have consume the iovec. And once we do the iov_iter_revert in io_read, we will trigger the slab-out-of-bounds. Fix it by reexpand the count with size has been truncated. blkdev_write_iter can trigger the problem too.
