We are using black as a dev-package using version 20.8b1 and bringing 19 causes issues. I am assuming you are using black as a library to perform functions vs a dev-package used in the dev environment?

+1 please can you version bump black or add it as a dev-package it's causing us great pain

#36 this PR seems to do both of those solutions.

Is this project abandoned? I don't think there are any commits from Madoshakalaka since Jun 29, 2020, and the license copyright is for 2019.

I could (and would) use this today if it wasn't for this single line of code. Unfortunately this version of black is too old and breaks stuff.

Has anyone reached out to the author yet?

I have contributed to this project in the past, and I realized I had an email from the author buried in my inbox from months ago. From what I understand, they lack sufficient time to maintain this project ATM and is looking for additional help. Hopefully we can start getting this package cleaned up soon enough
