We had this discussion during our stand-up and during "package explorer" functionality. Logging it for future tracking.

  1. It would be good to be able to search packages based on their technology - like .Net. Javacscript and Native (as we are going to support native).
2 It would be nice to be able to search for packages based on their content.

The work being done to track the VS Project Type Guids in the install statistics, and then leveraging that from search indexes should largely cover this.

We spent a great deal of time trying to find a way for a package to declare how it could be used, and that was a dead-end. Boosting search results by actual consumption seems much more promising.
