To add an environment variable to the AppImage sandbox, turns out it needs to be compiled into the
AppRunexecutable itself. So, I built a new binary withOPENSSL_CONF=/dev/nullcompiled in, and added it to theinstallerdir so that thebuild-server.pyscript (with appropriate modifications) can pick it up from there.Hopefully, for real this time, this
