Met Office Unified Model

Model outputs from pre-2011 use individual files for each variable with a unique ID (stash code - see table below). For 2011 onwards, the outputs are stored as a single file for each model run. As such, the stash codes are largely superseded by the variable names. Some documentation exists here:

I (Pierre) am currently loading the following variables for use with HEATING_ON or HEATING_CALCULATED for the 2011 onwards data:

Precipitation needs to be converted to m/s (divide by freshwater density 1000kg m-3). As with the NCEP data, I'm calculating evaporation from the latent heat and subtracting it from the precipitation. I then set evaporation to zero and use precipitation-evaporation for the precipitation variable.
