Getting data from the server takes a long time (especially for searching), but it is easy to filter cached local content.
A lightroom library filter like panel could be added to app. It can show some subpanels (one for each metadata) that allows for filtering for a given metadata and a slider on the top to range the photo date:

It should be hidden by default, it would be visible if toggled (below the navbar) with a filter button on the navigation bar:
