Description

I just upgraded my system from Fedora 32 to 33 and Brave seems to have fonts broken in download form.

Any other browser it appears to be just fine.

Brave is installed trough snap:

brave 1.17.75 88 latest/stable brave -

Any ideas how to solve it?

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Try to download something to open download dialog
  2. Try to upload something to open upload dialog

Expected result:

View proper fonts instead of squares.

Any time i try to download/upload somethong

If left the edge package with ironically is previous version works.

Other Additional Information:

  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Shields? No
  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Rewards? No
  • Is the issue reproducible on the latest version of Chrome? No

Miscellaneous Information:

I tried to enable logging to stderr but i just get:

If i try to execute brave inside the snap it self...

Ok @fmarier Tried with your suggestiong, running brave with LANG=C and... no luck at all.

Indeed, i tried with a fresh install. But nothing, nada.

Can you check whether the fonts-liberation package is installed (regular package, not Snap) on your machine?
