Description

Sidebar not enabled when upgraded from 1.36.x to 1.37.x

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install 1.36.x
  2. Upgrade to 1.37.x
  3. Relaunch browser

Actual result:

Sidebar not displayed in Normal window
brave://setttings Show Sidebar Enabled shows Never

ex1 ex2
update 1-36 to 1-37 Sidebar not displayed after upgrade

Expected result:

Sidebar should be enabled by default

Reproduces how often:

Easily

Brave version (brave://version info)

Brave| 1.37.105 Chromium: 100.0.4896.46 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Revision| 5ca33821b2211805855c77d334353d27c616a7ca-refs/branch-heads/4896@{#584}
OS Windows 11 Version 21H2 (Build 22000.556)

Version/Channel Information:

  • Can you reproduce this issue with the current release? RC
  • Can you reproduce this issue with the beta channel?

Other Additional Information:

  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Shields?
  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Rewards?

Closing this as this is working expected. As per #21726. Show sidebar in settings shows as Never in release channel 1.37.x.
