Build configuration

Updates to this public wiki page should be reflected on its private equivalent for internal developers and in the company's secrets management service.

A number of build flags are passed via a .env configuration file in the brave-core repository root directory. Since each of these flags is tied to a service that Brave has to pay to maintain, or get access to, external developers will have to supply their own values to use these features. is_official_build = true is the only build that requires many of these flags to be set, but you can supply dummy values for them.
