Discussed via Slack with @timchilds and @bsclifton and we're going to leave the widget feature in 1.47.x and let it ride the trains. This way the feature can have some bake time. Once we do channel migrations, this will be in the 1.47.x BETA from the start so QA and others will see it right away and can start using/interacting with the feature.
