since I'm new to this all and learning how to use Github, could you help me out? Shall I create a new PR maybe? Or how can I delete a commit from a PR using the web-based UI version of Github?

Hey @annalisag-spark you can close this PR and fetch the upstream dev-it on your forked repo again, so you're aligned. Then start from scratch: open a new branch from dev-it, add the new term, and raise another PR.
That would be easier.
