Mopify ships with an improved Queue Manager which works the same way as Spotify does. Users familiar with Mopidy clients can notice any differences, that's why it can be usefull to read this page.

Structure

The Mopify tracklist contains three sections:

  • Now playing
  • Queue
  • Playlist

Now playing shows, as you would expect, the current playing song.

Queue

The queue contains tracks you (or other people using Mopify in combination with the same Mopidy server) added through the context menu. The queue will always have the highest priority when walking through the tracklist. You can only add or remove tracks to the queue using a track's, playlist's or album's context menu.

Playlist

This is where all tracks will be placed after clicking on a play icon, the 'shuffle playlist/album' button or double clicking on a track.

Playing music

Using the play icon

You can start playing a new playlist or album by clicking on the play icon which appears when you hover over an item. Clicking on the icon will result in Mopify adding the complete album or playlist to the current tracklist. The first, or clicked, track will be started. When the track ends, or the user skips the track, Mopify will play the next track in the 'Queue'. If no track is available it will play the next track in the 'Playlist'.

Random mode

When enabling random mode Mopify will shuffle all tracks in the 'Playlist' section. Tracks in the 'Queue' won't be touched. Most other Mopidy clients make use of an other random method. At the moment Mopify can conflict with these other clients.
