"Yet soil is miraculous. It is where the dead are brought back to life.
Here, in the thin earthy boundary between inanimate rock and the planet’s
green carpet, lifeless minerals are weathered from stones or decomposed
from organic debris. Plants and microscopic animals eat these dead
particles and recast them as living matter. In the soil, matter recrosses
the boundary between living and dead; and, as we have seen,
boundaries-edges-are where the most interesting and important events
occur."

all beings. The mountains and rivers are beings too. In Hindi, the

and the big ones with no hierarchy because you have no idea ecologically
how things fit in the web of life.*

There is/will always be a goal for each season of @dwyl's life, see #40 and dwyl/hq#149 for example. But there needs to be an over-arching goal, the mission that underpins everything we do.
@nelsonic and I have talked about both types of goals to many people, but we're also very aware that we need to write them down and make them public, as we do with everything else!
We will need to iterate over them ourselves, but for me, the goal is this:
The wording for this is still evolving in my head and we're not quite there yet!
But this is broad and wide-ranging, what does this mean in practice?
The idea of an overall goal or guiding mission in my view is that it sets the tone for the whole organisation. It's then split out into smaller goals which in themselves are measurable.
So what does this encompass? A huge amount of things:
