I am having the same issue. This happened when I updated to the latest version of react native.

I have tried

rm -rf node_modules

and tried clearing the cache

rm -fr $TMPDIR/react-*

I was just able to fix it by killing all my running packages and node processes and rerunning
react-native run-ios

Can you share the environment information that you use and source code for reproduce?

Thanks for posting this! It looks like you may not be using the latest version of React Native, v0.53.0, released on January 2018. Can you make sure this issue can still be reproduced in the latest version?
