PlayStation 2 Linux hardware model compatibility

Linux for the PlayStation 2 is currently restricted to models that are compatible with uLaunchELF, as it is used as a boot loader for the Linux kernel.

Compatible models

The following models are expected to be compatible:

  • SCPH-3xxxx
  • SCPH-5xxxx
  • SCPH-7xxxx
  • SCPH-900xx
  • Sony Bravia KDL-22PX300

The following models have been tested with recent Linux versions and are known to be compatible:

  • SCPH-30004
  • SCPH-30004 R
  • SCPH-37000 L
  • SCPH-39004
  • SCPH-50004
  • SCPH-70003
  • SCPH-70004
  • SCPH-75004
  • SCPH-77004
  • SCPH-90001 (Test by DCFUKSURMOM)

The following models are, at this time, untested:

  • SCPH-10000
  • SCPH-15000
  • SCPH-18000
  • DTL-H10000
  • Namco System 246/256 (all arcade machines)
  • PS2 TOOL (all modes and revisions)
  • PS3 Backward Compatible with PS2
  • PS3 Semi-Backward Compatible with PS2
  • PS3 PS2 Classics
  • PS4 PS2 Classics
