Documentation

On this page, https://docs.gravwell.io/configuration/certificates.html, address the use of SANs (Subject Alternative Names) with certs:

  • Understand what they are, why they're necessary, used for
  • How to determine which SANs to configure and when
  • Associated Gravwell configuration
  • Errors that may happen if they're not present or configured incorrectly

What needs to be documented?

"Who/what/where/when/why/how" usage of SANs in certificates for distributed deployments

Why is this documentation needed?

To avoid potential trust issues/errors between distributed components
