The only implementor, Firefox, considers this for ShadowRoot in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1430307 but there is no spec for it.
Edit: Also the claim that Firefox 63 implements ShadowRoot.caretPositionFromPoint seems to be false.
