  • Fresh start of VSCode, Ctrl + `, open the terminal
  • The text on the first line is garbled

I've not observed that until today.

Was this just a once off or was it happening frequently? If you can reproduce I'd be interested to see if there are any errors in devtools.

I now get it all the time when the terminal is opened for the first time

  • Before closing VSCode, kill the terminal
  • open VSCode on a folder with a long path
  • start VSCode, open the terminal with the keyboard shortcut: Terminal shows up, prompt all on one line
  • kill the terminal, open the terminal again with the keyboard shortcut: Terminal shows up, now properly rendered on two lines.

Another example: Note that I 'kill' the terminal, not just close it. Looks like the terminal size is not correctly initialized for the newly created instance.
