Notes from the ODPi Operations PMC 6/8 meeting

Attendees: Tim Thorpe, Scott Gray, Nate D’Amico, Rich Pelavin, Yusaku Sako, Sumit Mohanty, Susan Malaika, John Mertic (I forgot to take notes on attendees, so if I missed you please reply and say you were there.)

We elected Tim Thorpe as chairperson of the PMC.

We agreed to meet weekly. Our tentative meeting times are Wednesday 2:00-2:30 pm PDT. (Roman, can you confirm that this time works for you?)

We discussed the next steps for resolving the outstanding Ambari issue we had identified that we wanted in the next release of Ambari (AMBARI-12885). AMBARI-14854 covers similar areas and has already been committed. We agreed to have a separate discussion to determine what functionality from AMBARI-12885 needs to be included and how to integrate it with what has been committed. That discussion is currently scheduled for Friday June 8 at 11:00 PDT. Please let Tim Thorpe know if you would like to attend the meeting so that he can put you on the invitation.

We discussed the scope of changes that are needed in the specification. We agreed to have Scott Gray and Yusaku Sako edit the existing specification. They will present a draft to the PMC at the 6/22 meeting.

We discussed what needs to be done next for the testing. The team concluded that we do not have the expertise to work with the current test infrastructure. We plan to reach out to Raj Desai and Cos, who worked extensively on the infrastructure before to request assistance with this. Alan Gates volunteered to do this outreach.

We discussed the progress of getting Ambari into the reference build. Raja Aluri of Hortonworks has agreed to review the existing patch from Cos. Alan will check back with Raja on his progress.
