Agenda/New Business

Discuss some of the recent pull requests submitted by Erik Zeiske

Discuss PR 6915

Specifically: https://github.com/open-mpi/ompi/pull/6915#issuecomment-524992073

Concluded:

  1. Let's re-open and merge this regex/naieve component for v4.0.x. Josh Hursey made good arguments for it:
    • It's a simple, passthru component that will always work, guaranteed (especially good since we know the default one may fail in some cases).
    • Remember: we removed regex on master because we determined that it's a losing battle. So this is a v4.0.x-only issue.
  2. Consensus was that we should also have a zlib-based component for v4.0.x. That will be a future feature request, and will not block any release (E.g., it could make it to v4.0.2, but it could just as easily slip to a future v4.0.x).

Process enforcement bots

  • No update (Brian on vacation)

Submodule prototype

  • Merged --recurse-submodules update into ompi-scripts Jenkins script as first step. Let's see if that works.

Review v4.0.x Milestones v4.0.2

Review Master Master Pull Requests

  • IBM's PGI test has NEVER worked. Is it a real issue or local to IBM.
  • nVidia bought PGI, perhaps someone there could take a look?
    • Akshay said he'd talk to a PGI person at nVidia to see.
  • PR6556 and 6621 should go to the release branches.
    • no update

CI status

  • Cray running into problems again. :frown:

Next face to face

MTT

  • IBM has to triage some failures on master and v4.0.x and some test build issues. Josh Hursey thought they might be accidentally mixing XLC and PGI compilers. Will investigate.
  • Cisco has a build failure to investigate.
