Hi all

I am writing to propose the Vietnamese translation of the site.

As the Vietnam Ruby community grows, we realise the needs for a localised version of the Ruby homepage. I've recently organised a small team of 6 translators from the Vietnam Ruby User Group (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ruby-Vi%E1%BB%87t-Nam/457575357599831?ref=hl). The translation team is consisted of:

For the time being, I will be coordinating the team by reviewing, spell checking and submitting pull request on behalf of the team for the sake of consistency. I'd love to get in touch with core members to set up milestones and coordination for long term support of Vietnamese translation. Please let me know what's needed to be done. Many thanks

Trung

@joneslee85 Fantastic! I reviewed #222. but this pull request is too big. Please small start like Russian translations(#196)

@hsbt I'll do a small patch instead. Besides, does this mean we are good to go?

@joneslee85, @hsbt

Sounds promising. Could your team members add a note on this discussion page? We absolutely need several contributors we can talk to.

You are aware that this is not a one-time effort but long term? A translation needs to be kept up-to-date with the official release and security announcements.

Coordination from your part is a very good thing, but in the end PRs from the various translators should converge in this repository directly. It makes communication easier and also the translators should get the credit. Also for later, a single person who knows how to contribute here is not sufficient.

Before you resubmit your PR I will do some basic setup, and also create a you would have to check out the vi-translation branch from which you should fork your feature branches. Note: First, you need to rename your branch with the same name (git branch -m vi-translation new-name).

You can have a look at the ru milestones (#214) to get some idea of how we would proceed from there.

@joneslee85 I added commit bit to you. but you shouldn't to direct commit into master branch :octocat:

I expect that ruby community will grow up in Vietnam through this translation activity.

@hsbt IMO that's a little premature 😲

@stomar I understood your opinion, but removing commit bit and reverting wrong commits are easily 😎

I think this can be closed. Progress is tracked in #251.
