If this is your first journey through the Cosmos, you must be wondering why you would use this plugin instead of any other.
But first, let me introduce you the reasons behind the creation of the plugin.

Cosmos development started back in 2019.
At this moment, there were already some multi-world management solutions available in Sponge.
But, in order to create a server that could supports vanilla PvP and minigames maps, I was looking for a plugin dealing with per-world scoreboards and world restoring.

None met my needs. Cosmos was born.

Now, let's talk about the best of Cosmos.

A long, painstaking development process before the first release

As I said upon above, Cosmos development started in 2019, and the release 1.0.0 went out one and half year later.
This long amount of time has resulted in several key points:

  • the mastery of the Sponge API to take full advantage of its capabilities.
  • the implementation of an intuitive and simplified command structure thanks to autocompletion.
  • the realization of many practical tests on each command available in the plugin.
  • the implementation of a well-documented help command with many examples of use cases.

Broad documentation

During your trip within the Cosmos, you will have the opportunity to use, if necessary, the very complete documentation that has been produced to allow everyone to find their way around.
Even if you are comfortable using this plugin, feel free to check out the command description page where you can potentially learn essential tips.
By the time Cosmos grows up, the documentation will be supplemented by the misadventures of some people and if questions come up too often, they will be added to the FAQ.

A looking forward plugin

Cosmos is and will remain up to date with the last version of the Sponge API.
Big changes will come out with the API 8, currently in development and targetting Minecraft 1.16. These changes will allow a simplified development of new functionalities that are now missing, like Portal management or multiple Nether/End dimensions.

At the same time, you will have the opportunity to ask for implementation of new features that you would like to get in the plugin, in order to best meet your needs. For this, use the dedicated Discord server or the issue reporting page.
