Agenda

Using our standing agenda, working from the Project Board.

Review ‘For discussion’ items

Remove the frameset example in G128 #4006 has only one thumbs up but does have two reviews. This led to sidebar discussion on how to best treat obsolete techniques. The files are not being deleted, and URLs exist, but are not linked up. Moved to Ready for Approval.

Fix typo/incorrect word in input purpose listing #4034 already Sent to AG, but mentioned for a word correction.

Amend definition of motion animation to not exclude blurring #4040 closes WCAG Example suggests "blurring" does not affect animation triggering vestibular motion perception (but it can) #3949 discussed and moved to Ready for Approval.

Add note about the scope of 1.4.5 Images of Text (images used rather than text) and example #4021 had somewhat ambiguous response from Detlev. Mike assigned himself and will take another look. Moved to Ready for Approval in interim.

Review ‘Drafted’ items

Change on Request update for issue #738 #754 Mike highlighted his editorial and group agreed. Minor edit on call. Moved back to Ready for Approval.

Update text-spacing with editorial improvements #4038 Ken agreed to double check, as the use "was a bit hard to parse in the context, and it may be possible to move period out of quotation for readability. Ken looked and could not find anything involving smart-vs-not quotes in any of the style guides. Moved to Ready for Approval

Updating example 2 in prog determined #3049 would be a normative tweak to Glossary. Alastair found that his was addressed in AG call and the AG decision was to update Understanding. Also, this definition is a not good place for the first use of the term accessibility tree is available. Noted that "accessibility tree" is also used in ARIA7 and ARIA9 techniques. Closed and status set to Done.

Addressing issue #2479 #3165 needs a fresh review. Lori accepted assignment. Moved back to In Progress.

Drafted

Update C43 to add test case for Focus Not Obscured Enhanced #3534 Updated to reflect related AAA version of success criteria. Reviewed and discussed, keeping earlier version. Moved to Ready for approval.

Add F42 as failure for 4.1.2 #4052 includes link syntax correction and cleaning up line breaks. The diff may give the impression of more than that, because of the whitespace differences. Moved to Ready for Approval.

Other discussion

Time permitting, items of interest to participants, including open discussions.

Patrick brought up issues that had closed PRs but were still on the Board. Patrick moved to "no status". Mike will double check. Once status is set, UI is a bit tricky to remove status.

Scott is working on a PR reflecting discussion from Google Doc on Reflow. Updated Reflow understanding doc #4055 set as draft, and pull request is still a work in progress.

Reminder that links to Techniques should not have link text (typically the SC title) because that is generated via build process.

Input Purposes for User Interface Components is an appendix, so should be marked as non-normative #3777 Opportunity to discuss WCAG 2.x treatment of appendices. WCAG 2.0 has the glossary formatted as an appendix but labeled as normative -- but that is contradictory. WCAG 2.1 pulls the glossary into document (good) and does uses appendix formatting correctly, but the word "appendix" is not used. Conceptually, the solution is adding
Appendices
at end of 6 Glossary but that is easier said than done. As an errata, change will need to go through CFC.
