Portable Mode

To start Logexpert from any USB-Drive or external hard-drive, Logexpert can be configured to be portable.

To activate this mode open "Options => Settings => Peristence" and mark the checkbox "Activate Portable Mode" image

Certain behaviors change in this mode:

  • every configuration is saved in a subfolder "portable" in the application startup folder
    • logexpert settings will be saved as portableMode.json (normally settings are saved as settings.json)
    • plugin and columnizer settings are still saved in there respective format defined by the plugin or columnizer
  • persistence files (log session files for every open logfile) are saved in a subfolder "sessionfiles" in the application startup folder

To deactivate this mode, click the checkbox again
