Field Data Checklist

The following is a checklist that should be followed in preparation for field data collection.

Before doing anything else!

  • Pull the most up to date version of the code

Need to Bring

  • Double sided tape and scissors

  • Electrical tape

  • Husky and sensors

  • Husky Computer

  • Base station laptop

  • Base station

  • GPS

  • Transmitter

  • Antenna

  • Tripod

  • Ethernet to USB adapter

  • Portable power source

  • Ethernet cable

  • Both laptop chargers

  • Husky controller

  • Spare AA batteries

  • Spare husky battery

Setup Procedure

  1. Setup base station
  2. Open swift console, connect to tcp on base station
  3. Wait to get good GPS fix
  4. Go to settings tab in swift console
  5. Scroll to survey position and select auto-survey and hit save to flash, write down auto survey results
  6. Start logging base station data (not yet implemented)
  7. Log on husky computer (ssh robot@inspector-gadget)
  8. Make sure everything else is plugged in (imu, husky, HVLP, VVLP, Ximea, router, GPS, bluetooth controller)
  9. roslaunch ig_collect_scans ig_startup_test.launch
  10. Check that all required topics are publishing
  11. roslaunch ig_collect_scans ig_collect_scans.launch
