Shunt size (Rs) | Current range |
---|---|
0.025 ohm | 0A - 5A |
0.05 ohm | 0A - 2.5A |
0.1 ohm | 0A - 1.25A |
1 ohm | 0mA - 125mA |
10 ohm | 0mA - 12.5mA |
The size of the shunt resistors R14-R20 determines the current range of the sensors S1-S7. Best precision and accuracy is achieved when the current range is as small as possible. The shunt resistor must, therefore, be chosen based on the application. The table above shows example shunt sizes and corresponding current ranges. If these ranges are not enough, the following equation can be used to calculate a suitable value for Rs:
Rs = 0.125 / Imax
The following shunt resistors are mounted as default:
Sensor | Shunt resistor | Shunt size | Current range |
---|---|---|---|
S1 | R14 | 0.025 ohm | 0A - 5A |
S2 | R15 | 0.05 ohm | 0A - 2.5A |
S3 | R16 | 0.05 ohm | 0A - 2.5A |
S4 | R17 | 0.1 ohm | 0A - 1.25A |
S5 | R18 | 0.1 ohm | 0A - 1.25A |
S6 | R19 | 1 ohm | 0mA - 125mA |
S7 | R20 | 10 ohm | 0mA - 12.5mA |
