Dialogue System

Throughout the Asylum there will be NPC's that provide information through speaking with Damian. The dialog system allows the player to choose what to say/ask the NPC and they will answer accordingly. Choosing the wrong question may cause Damian to suffer the consequences of trusting an Asylum patient but sometimes being bold enough to trust a stranger may be beneficial for Damian's progress.

Inventory System

Damian can store some items with him like tools, keys, etc. These items have various purposes and allow Damian to progress through the levels. The inventory system creates the need for Damian to go to certain areas and get the necessary items to make progress in other areas of the Asylum. The amount of items that Damian can carry will also change the way he progresses, he may not be able to carry everything he needs.

Items and interaction

Items will be around the game-world and Damian will be able to pick them up/ interact with them. Small objects like keys and tools may be pickable and stored in the Inventory and other objects like locked doors may only be unlocked if Damian has the key for that specific door.

Knowledge System

Throughout the game the player can acquire knowledge that unlocks different interactions with players and objects. For example, the player has a interaction with a NPC that says some basic stuff, but after interacting with a locked door, a new interaction with the NPC appears with hints about the door.
