Space Weather modeling
Density variations over B field lines during solar wind/Earth magnetosphere interaction (M.S. Yalim). For details on the MHD numerical solver see the JCP article [here] (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0021999111002592).
Plasma number density contours in x-z plane during 04/06/2000 geomagnetic storm (M.S. Yalim). This simulation uses real data from ACE satellite and can run on multiple GPUs (for details see CPC article here).

The COOLFluiD team is involved and open to new collaborations in Horizon2020, ESA and other research projects dealing with complex multi-disciplinary problems and computational challenges.
