Summary of issues related to x-bte refactoring

Well-defined

BioThings API features that we want to use (update x-bte annotation):

• Jmespath cleanup and followup #841 (comment)
• Review/possibly address some "reverse operation" problems

Minor:

• adjust SmartAPI yaml tags

Some issues to use JQ for some non-BioThings APIs

(tagged both for jq and for x-bte)

• CTD processing 3: handling output IDs when multiple ID prefixes are possible #585
• CTD processing 4 (optional / less important): handling gene -> gene's response #586
• RaMP: process of x-bte annotation + adding to BTE  #705

Major stuff that still needs discussion / definition / prioritization?

• Overarching issue of x-bte refactoring: requirements and re-defining what a unit of annotation is
• multiple input/output ID namespaces

Other stuff, maybe needs discussion

Less-important / big right now:

• drop use of useTemplating field
• API-level x-bte info, including edge-attributes for hash (unique edges)
• JQ in SmartAPI. Somewhat related to having a tool to help write these JQ strings for BTE purposes
• tool for writing x-bte annotation - use schema to set up unit of annotation/operation to fill in, set up reverse unit/operation as or after you write the forward direction.

Documentation:

• documenting x-bte extensions, including schema
• updating and cleaning translator-api-registry repo
