This does two quick things:

  1. Makes the height of our header dependent on the items in the header, rather than fixing the height of the header itself. Fixes Header content spills out of the header on medium-sized screens #1163
  2. Fixes and simplifies some CSS for the jupyter-sphinx extension that I noticed while demoing this.

A nice benefit of this is that if the header is now empty, it disappears completely!

appart from the map issues LGTM!

Question: how can you generate a header with nothing? There is always at least the project name right ?

`ipyleaflet` is a **Jupyter**/**Leaflet** bridge enabling interactive maps in the Jupyter notebook environment. this demonstrate how you can integrate maps in your documentation.

The map is shown twice in the doc, maybe removing the last m will do the trick.

Hmmm I tried a few different approaches and have no idea why that map is showing up twice now. Could we just add a comment or open an issue to track de-bugging it? I suspect this might be a bug upstream and not related to this theme or the code in the cell :-/

how can you generate a header with nothing

I was thinking about the book theme actually - that one doesn't use the header at all for now and has to manually set it to display: none, but I think it could instead just over-ride the header templates to be empty, which would effectively make it disappear. Then if somebody else wanted something in the header they could add a template and it would magically reappear

Thoughts on whether we can live with #1164 (comment) ?

I'd like to get these last few bugfix PRs merged so that we can cut a new RC!

I think that's a bug from nbsphinx/ipyleaflet so none of our business. Please Go ahead and if you have time to report it, they will have an example to work on ;-)
