Hei, was trying to get my webcam to work, but noticed that CONFIG_USB_GSPCA_PAC207 is not enabled. Would really love if this option would be enabled.

Thanks.

It is enabled. You can check with:

commit 1a112d1 upstream.

1871ee1 ("libata: support the ata host which implements a queue
depth less than 32") directly used ata_port->scsi_host->can_queue from
ata_qc_new() to determine the number of tags supported by the host;
unfortunately, SAS controllers doing SATA don't initialize ->scsi_host
leading to the following oops.

Fix it by introducing ata_host->n_tags which is initialized to
ATA_MAX_QUEUE - 1 in ata_host_init() for SAS controllers and set to
scsi_host_template->can_queue in ata_host_register() for !SAS ones.
As SAS hosts are never registered, this will give them the same
ATA_MAX_QUEUE - 1 as before. Note that we can't use
scsi_host->can_queue directly for SAS hosts anyway as they can go
higher than the libata maximum.

Note that we can't use
scsi_host->can_queue directly for SAS hosts anyway as they can go
higher than the libata maximum.

davet321 pushed a commit to davet321/rpi-linux that referenced this issue Jan 11, 2016
This reverts commit 87b5ed8 ("ASoC: Intel:
Skylake: fix memory leak") as it causes regression on Skylake devices

The SKL drivers can be deferred probe. The topology file based widgets can
have references to topology file so this can't be freed until card is fully
created, so revert this patch for now

This problem can occur in the following situation:

open()
 - pread()
    - .seq_start()
       - iter = kmalloc() // succeeds
       - seqf->private = iter
    - .seq_stop()
       - kfree(seqf->private)
 - pread()
    - .seq_start()
       - iter = kmalloc() // fails
    - .seq_stop()
       - class_dev_iter_exit(seqf->private) // boom! old pointer

As the comment in disk_seqf_stop() says, stop is called even if start
failed, so we need to reinitialise the private pointer to NULL when seq
iteration stops.

An alternative would be to set the private pointer to NULL when the
kmalloc() in disk_seqf_start() fails.

This problem can occur in the following situation:

open()
 - pread()
    - .seq_start()
       - iter = kmalloc() // succeeds
       - seqf->private = iter
    - .seq_stop()

As the comment in disk_seqf_stop() says, stop is called even if start
failed, so we need to reinitialise the private pointer to NULL when seq

An alternative would be to set the private pointer to NULL when the

popcornmix pushed a commit that referenced this issue Jan 7, 2017
commit 1566a48 upstream.

If there is an error reported in mballoc via ext4_grp_locked_error(),
the code is holding a spinlock, so ext4_commit_super() must not try to
lock the buffer head, or else it will trigger a BUG:

  BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context at ./include/linux/buffer_head.h:358

Since ext4_grp_locked_error() calls ext4_commit_super with sync == 0
(and it is the only caller which does so), avoid locking and unlocking
the buffer in this case.

This can result in races with ext4_commit_super() if there are other
problems (which is what commit 4743f83 was trying to address),
but a Warning is better than BUG.

sch_tbf calls qdisc_watchdog_cancel() in both its ->reset and ->destroy
callbacks but it may fail before the timer is initialized due to missing
options (either not supplied by user-space or set as a default qdisc),
also q->qdisc is used by ->reset and ->destroy so we need it initialized.

Reproduce:
$ sysctl net.core.default_qdisc=tbf
$ ip l set ethX up

We have set the mmc_host.max_seg_size to 8M, but the dma max segment
size of PCI device is set to 64K by default in function pci_device_add().
The mmc_host.max_seg_size is used to set the max segment size of
the blk queue. Then this mismatch will trigger a calltrace like below
when a bigger than 64K segment request arrives at mmc dev. So we should
consider the limitation of the cvm_mmc_host when setting the
mmc_host.max_seg_size.

spi_master_put() must only be called in .probe() in case of error.

As devm_spi_register_master() is used during probe, spi_master_put()
mustn't be called in .remove() callback.

It fixes the following kernel WARNING/Oops when executing
echo "58003000.spi" > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/stm32-qspi/unbind :

popcornmix pushed a commit that referenced this issue Dec 13, 2019
commit 3c0af1d upstream.

spi_master_put() must only be called in .probe() in case of error.

As devm_spi_register_master() is used during probe, spi_master_put()
mustn't be called in .remove() callback.

It fixes the following kernel WARNING/Oops when executing
echo "58003000.spi" > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/stm32-qspi/unbind :

… fails

In the case where a filesystem is polled to take over the memory failure
and receives -EOPNOTSUPP it indicates that page->index and page->mapping
are valid for reverse mapping the failure address. Introduce
FSDAX_INVALID_PGOFF to distinguish when add_to_kill() is being called from
mf_dax_kill_procs() by a filesytem vs the typical memory_failure() path.

Otherwise, vma_pgoff_address() is called with an invalid fsdax_pgoff which
then trips this failing signature:

While testing in vIOMMU, sometimes Guest will unmap very large memory,
which will cause the crash. To fix this, add a new function
vhost_vdpa_general_unmap(). This function will only unmap the memory
that saved in iotlb.

popcornmix pushed a commit that referenced this issue Jan 12, 2023
commit e794070 upstream.

While testing in vIOMMU, sometimes Guest will unmap very large memory,
which will cause the crash. To fix this, add a new function
vhost_vdpa_general_unmap(). This function will only unmap the memory
that saved in iotlb.

There is a null-ptr-deref when mount.cifs over rdma:

The root cause of the issue is the socket create failed in
rxe_qp_init_req().

So move the reset rxe_qp_do_cleanup() after the NULL ptr check.
