PredefinedCategory Plugin
The PredefinedCategory plugin provides an easy way to set the default category for video submissions on your site. To configure this plugin, follow the steps below:
-
Access the Plugin Menu:
- Go to the plugin menu in your admin dashboard.
- Locate the "PredefinedCategory" plugin.
-
Set the Default Category:
-
Click on the blue button labeled "Default Category" to access the Default Category page.
-
On this page, you will find two columns:
-
Left Column (Site Default Category):
- Here, you can select the default category that will be assigned to all videos submitted to your site globally.
- Choose a category that best represents the overall theme or content of your site.
-
Right Column (User Default Category):
- In this column, you can specify a default category for each user.
- For example, if you want the user "Guns Specialist" to always submit videos to the "Guns" category, you can assign that as their default category.
-
-
The default category ensures consistency and helps organize your video content effectively.
-
-
User's Category Selection:
- It is important to note that users have the flexibility to change the category selection for their own videos.
- After uploading a video, users can navigate to the "My Videos" section, where they have the option to modify the category if needed.
Additionally, the PredefinedCategory plugin offers the following features:
- Usergroups can be associated with the PredefinedCategory plugin.
- Usergroups play a crucial role in making videos private and can be used in conjunction with subscription or pay-per-view plugins.
- By assigning a usergroup to specific videos, you can restrict access to those videos to only members of that usergroup.
Usergroups provide the following benefits:
- Private Videos: Associate usergroups with specific videos to make them accessible only to members of the respective usergroup.
- Subscription Integration: Link usergroups with a subscription plugin to offer exclusive content to subscribed users within that usergroup.
- Pay-per-view Integration: Associate usergroups with a pay-per-view plugin to enable users within that usergroup to access paid video content.
By utilizing the PredefinedCategory plugin along with usergroups, you can streamline the categorization process for video submissions on your site, ensure a consistent user experience, and control access to private videos. This integration allows for seamless implementation of subscription or pay-per-view functionalities, enhancing the overall user experience on your site.
