[Question] Does dma-buf work after live migrations? #27

We didn’t validate this case, since dma-buf is still in experiment stage.

I was wondering if dma-buf works on a target system after a live migration. Also as it is my understanding that a Guest Driver restart is not required unless you are migrating to a target with a different iGPU, is this correct?
I might setup a test jig to see if this works imperially but I wanted to see if anyone has the answer readily available before I go setup a system to build and test.

syzbot caught an infinite recursion in nsh_gso_segment(). Problem here is that we need to make sure the NSH header is of reasonable length. Other architectures seems to get away with just doubling kernel stack size under kasan, but on s390 this appears to be not enough due to bigger frame size. This is the same sort of error we saw in commit 17e2e7d ("mm, page_alloc: fix has_unmovable_pages for HugePages"). Gigantic hugepages cross several memblocks, so it can be that the page we get in scan_movable_pages() is a page-tail belonging to a 1G-hugepage. If that happens, page_hstate()->size_to_hstate() will return NULL, and we will blow up in hugepage_migration_supported(). Recently nvme_dev.q_depth was changed from an int to u16 type. This falls over for the queue depth calculation in nvme_pci_enable(), where NVME_CAP_MQES(dev->ctrl.cap) + 1 may overflow as a u16, as NVME_CAP_MQES() is a 16b number also. high_memory used to be initialized in mem_init, way after setup_bootmem. But a call to dma_contiguous_reserve in this function gives rise to the below warning because high_memory is equal to 0 and is used at the very beginning at cma_declare_contiguous_nid. It went unnoticed since the move of the kasan region redefined KERN_VIRT_SIZE so that it does not encompass -1 anymore. Given a sufficiently large number of actions, while copying and reserving memory for a new action of a new flow, if next_offset is greater than MAX_ACTIONS_BUFSIZE, the function reserve_sfa_size() does not return -EMSGSIZE as expected, but it allocates MAX_ACTIONS_BUFSIZE bytes increasing actions_len by req_size. We can only force migrate an object if the existing object size is compatible with the new destinations min_page_size for the region. I was wondering if dma-buf works on a target system after a live migration. Also as it is my understanding that a Guest Driver restart is not required unless you are migrating to a target with a different iGPU, is this correct?
I might setup a test jig to see if this works imperially but I wanted to see if anyone has the answer readily available before I go setup a system to build and test.
