Installation

Install the application from Google Play Store. You can use the QR code above to get quick access to the app.

An alternative way to reach the app is to download APK file from any of public resources. Open the downloaded APK file up. This should trigger a start of it's installation procedure.

A copy of the APK file is shared over Google Drive as well.

Usage

  1. Turn your SoftRF device on and wait until full completion of it's boot sequence ;

  2. Open the SoftRF Tool up

  1. Select your device connection method, such as: Bluetooth LE (BLE) or USB.
When BLE is selected, the app will start to look for any available Bluetooth LE device in the vicinity.
Tap on your SoftRF device name to connect.

  1. Edit your device settings. Read this page for description of every option available.
Don't forget to touch 'Save' icon before you leave the app.
(You need to alter at least one setting for the 'Save' icon to appear)

  1. Confirm the action by touching 'Save and Restart':

Known issues

  1. The tool has an issue with setting of a specific aircraft type that has numeric Id greater than (decimal) 9, such as:

    • Balloon
    • UAV
    • Static

An attempt to set any of these types causes the tool to no longer enter into basic settings menu.
Apply SoftRF online Basic tool together with USB or Web Bluetooth LE Terminal to select an aircraft type other than listed above, then resume use of the SoftRF Tool app.

  2. The SoftRF Tool version 1.2 is currently out of sync with SoftRF settings API. It makes an unwanted reset of aircraft database selector into "OFF" state while in use with SoftRF Badge firmware version 1.5 or higher.
Use SoftRF online UI tool together with Web Bluetooth LE Terminal to select a proper aircraft database setting.

  3. The tool may fail to show RMC sentences in the NMEA monitor screen.
