Synchronizing Data

Synchronizing data is a process of copying information from the server to the lanes. Synchronizing always replaces the lane's data with the latest information from the server.

One way to synchronize data is to schedule a task so that it happens automatically. Go to Admin => Scheduled Tasks and enable the Lane Data Sync task. Setting this to run once a day is usually a good idea. This will update items, members, cashiers, and departments.

Another option is using the Synchronize menu. Common options are listed in the menu. Choose other data to sync other tables. When manually entering names bear in mind that it is case sensitive.

Finally, some synchronization happens automatically. Editing a single item will update that item on the lanes immediately. Forcing a sale or price change batch also updates those items on the lanes immediately.
