The UP Squared Pro has two connectors for GPIO/peripherals:
- m10 header
- HAT connector: pin-compatible with Raspberry Pi Pin position
The M10 header has one UART (max 3Mbaud) and two USB 2 ports available through an adapter cable,

Each of the HAT pins has a dual function, a standard GPIO in/out mode, and a function mode. On the board start, all the pin are set in function mode by default but that can be changed within the bios menu see 40-pin multi-function I/O header
