Data Modeling
How do we want to create data models? How do we store them? Hard coded in the code ala Hydra? Build off of a base set of data models? Brand new?
Do we provide the ability to create a new data model in Drupal (possibly based off of existing models), these are also stored in Fedora.
Diego would like at least two different base types (RDFSource and NonRDFSource) to allow for different rdf:type or properties.
Then some sort of flat storage of fields in the content-type, and edit as separate fields. There is a (previously) identified problem in Drupal where you can't remove a predicate from a field. Once added it is always in the database.
Do we want to add a specific Islandora rdf:type to all items. Are we getting anything from a new content-type or should it be restricted to Drupal side.
Some people in the IR Interest Group believe that we should not try to model all use cases to being with and the benefit of Drupal is the ability to extend existing content-types to make new ones.
Original definition was that Drupal should be able to live without Fedora. This can be complicated. We need to add new interfaces to allow people to choose their ontologies.
If a person wants to add to their content-model a new predicate/property from a new ontology.
Diego is working on a rules based system that gets an ontology and reasons using that ontology to help build a new valid RDF graph. Sort of a templating system.
We need to start an ontologies working group to look at sub-classing the PCDM ontology classes into a new OWL2 Islandora ontology. So we have the base PCDM class name, but include the restrictions.
Diego is presenting on an the idea in the realm of https://www.w3.org/2011/prov/wiki/Using_named_graphs_to_model_Accounts at OpenRepositories. So he will look to start a wiki page of his information.
