Acquia Drupal 9 webinar takeaways - Bryan Brown
- The main takeaway was that Symfony 3.x will be on EOL 2021 Q4, thus Drupal 8 will not get any security updates after that. With Symfony 3.4 (feature equivalent to Symfony 4) in Drupal 8.5+, the transition to Symfony 4.0 has started. Currently, deprecated functions are highlighted and you have until 8.9? to phase out the deprecated functions. According to Acquia, Drupal 8.9 will contain all the functionality for Drupal 9, and it will not introduce any API breaking changes.
