(Last 10 Minutes): Roundtable
- Release update:
- The sprint has been done with the exception of the tokens stuff which can be squeezed in later. The code is technically frozen now. Danny will eventually slice up the codebase into branch labels. There is more than just code updates and it includes documentation updates as well; the more technical documents have been falling behind on updating (such as the manual installation docs, using testing & test cases, some backend micro service docs, etc).
- Documentation sprint: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E-kRw9xE60CKK0qL1-phzeVKjEZu3qBKZ9d3LH1hDEE/edit#gid=1394671846 “Islandora 2.0” - no cutesy animal name Code freeze is not in effect. Whenever it goes through a round of user-feedback it can be an official release.
- Issue Roundup
- “New multi file batch uploader feature creates only one set of derivatives #1815” https://github.com/Islandora/documentation/issues/1815
- Mark Jordan identified the problem. The code will need to be enhanced in order to determine if the media type is a multi-file. Alan Stanley said that the same thing will happen through the UI if you add more than one Original File to any item; he added that the context can be adjusted so that the derivatives for each Original File be put in the Original File’s media as a multi-file… this will require a slightly different definition of the actions.
- This also would be a perfect candidate for documentation to explain the decision on how the files will be set up for the given Islandora site. Also, the UI could instruct as to what is expected.
- This may be a case where we mint our own predicate - “isDerivativeOf”. Adam proposed https://schema.org/isBasedOn but it might not apply as much to machine-generated content but as long as we don’t ALSO use this for intellectual content, we could use it. Kristina Spurgin proposed https://www.w3.org/ns/prov#wasDerivedFrom "A derivation is a transformation of an entity into another, an update of an entity resulting in a new one, or the construction of a new entity based on a pre-existing entity.”.
- “"pcdm" namespace is not registered by default #1817” https://github.com/Islandora/documentation/issues/1817
- The option can be added as a config and displayed where needed. Seth Shaw recently updated - this will need either another update hook or a config. In the 8.x-1.x code, https://github.com/Islandora/islandora/blob/8.x-1.x/islandora.install#L12 and https://github.com/Islandora/islandora/blob/8.x-1.x/islandora.install#L111
- There is some question as to whether or not the setting is set correctly on a new Islandora build. Also, the taxonomy that are defined in Controlled Access Terms does not automagically get installed.
- “New multi file batch uploader feature creates only one set of derivatives #1815” https://github.com/Islandora/documentation/issues/1815
At this point, we ran out of time.
