Agenda

Old Business

Background

Publishing available predicates is a good idea, and having an Ontology document is the best way to get to shared definitions of predicates. Nick identified all of the predicates he could and is auditing changes again now. Nick put them all into ontology following https://github.com/fcrepo4/ontology - this comes comes with an .xsl that transforms ontology into a human readable document. Because Nick cribbed heavily from the Fedora ontology, he followed Apache 2 license (license of original ontology).

Challenges

Keeping this in sync with the codebase - aligning islandora.ca published document with what exists in the codebase. There's a few tricks that could be made to make this automated, but right now it is updated by Paul and Donald. Currently if people want to suggest changes, they could submit a JIRA ticket against the ontology (which has been set up as a component).

Understanding how changes and definitions come from the code and into the ontology - involved discussion about this.

Outcome

Update readme to indicate procedure for adding terms/syncing codebase and ontolgoy. Nick will be maintainer. Work toward automation, and additional issues/development tasks could be submitted as tickets. Any submitted tickets will be reviewed this in the next meeting before vote. Will will create a JIRA ticket articulating his concerns.

Not everything fits perfectly into the LSAP template for a readme- for example, Drupal Filter, CiteProc, Islandora IA Bookreader and a couple of additional components <--put on next week's agenda

New Business

Interest Group Updates

  • Documentation IG (Melissa) - Documentation group has not met since last Roadmap, but group is working on release docs.

  • Dev Ops (Mark Jordan) - Mark not at last call. Gavin Morris Chaired. Still open pull requests on Ubuntu guide and lots of discussion.

  • Metadata IG (Jennifer) The Metadata IG meet earlier this week. The meeting notes can be found at: https://github.com/islandora-interest-groups/Islandora-Metadata-Interest-Group/blob/master/Meetings/Agenda10.md. We welcomed Amanda Lehman as the new co-convener of the group. The group's new format of integrating a discussion was successful. Amanda led a discussion on the Duraspace book club. Next month Jennifer will lead a discussion on migration tools and tools for reviewing metadata followed by Martha Tenney on how their institution is customizing the manuscript solution pack. In the round table, we learned also how Barnard is developing an Islandora Solr Content Type used to display repository content based on a content type and sparql queries.

  • IR interest group (Donald) - Notes are here: https://github.com/islandora-interest-groups/Islandora-IR-Interest-Group/blob/master/meetings/2016-02-25.md Discussion for group re: participating in Scholar release and CLAW. Discussions ongoing.

  • CLAW - blog post posted yesterday. Sprint starts next week. CLAW lessons ongoing. Third one happened Tuesday. Well attended. Blog post is here: http://islandora.ca/content/state-claw Breakout group for Fedora 4 happened at Code4Lib and birds of a feather group (3-4 hours)- some CLAW discussion at both. A lot of interest in the community for it, but resources still being sorted out.

Islandora Camps

  • iCampFL - looks good. Close to breaking even.

  • iCampBC2 - People registering within the first hour (reg at 5) Hard cap so folks need to register soon. Early bird ends 2015.

  • Islandoracon - draft expressions of interest was sent around. Needs to go out - Melissa will send out. Group agrees looks good.

Round Table

  • UPEI continuing to migrate to new scholar
  • Jean reports that Florida State voted for an OA policy, so January-launched repo about to get even more traffic!
  • Slowing down dev on Oral History as a result of losing staff at UTSC - need to have a discussion with Mark J about summer development
  • Nick expressed his concerns about continued difficult (in his opinion) interactions select a select group of dgi employees, and how that will affect his community contributions moving forward.
  • Mark J. provided an update on the SFU migration

Next meeting: April 1st (for real!)

  • Chair: Noah
  • Notes: Eric
