PR Roundup
Agree to delete main branch and make 'dev' the default to avoid people accidentally running an old playbook.
1. [Awesome PR](https://github.com/Islandora/documentation/pull/1879) to update the manual installation docs. Can some hero put in the time to test and merge this so it doesn't languish?
Looking for review, Seth says he is unavailable. Mark will add to agenda of future tech calls to discuss.
Still in Draft.
(Last 10 Minutes): Roundtable
asking how we should construct use cases, and if we have a general issue to track multiple use cases.
Multiple issues can force you to think more strategically instead of doing the simple thing to solve one issue.
Reading through the module's source code to get a description of what Isldndora itself provides.
Looking to break out concepts like
- nodes have members
- media have uses attached to them.
We've built a whole lot of stuff on tehse assumptions that aren't currently documented.
As well what is provided by API features.
What is provided by Contexts?
Hopefully will have a draft document by next committers call. Hoping it will be part of the official documentation. Hoping it iwll inform both developers and librarians.
In the documentation we don't have a consistency around what Islandora provides, suggests, sets as a deafault, etc.
Want some clarity on what you can tweak and what is provided in the background,.
Uncovering an issue with how Islandora does not kick off an index unless a field on the node is changed. This may igonre cchnages in paragraphs fields and taxonomy terms referenced by the node.
Updaing Context seems to break functionality.
Don: There is a specific update that they are pointing at that works.
Don will create a ticket.
Noting that Drupal 8 is EOL very shortly and updating to Drupal 9 avoids this problem.
Nat: Notes anotehr problem with context where blocks are not shown .
Asking about the status of the release. Mark has not heard from Danny since before last week, will ping him to ask for an update.
Asking if there is a 'known issues' documentaion section to highlight things like 'don't update Contexts on Drupal 8'.
Raising issue of how running Sprints will be difficult without a tech lead. Propose looking at the model of Drupal.org initiatives which can be accomplished asynchronously.
Mark positive about the idea, asking for what the TAG has been discussing.
Seth and Rosie are working on a document to present to the leadership group.
Mark mentions that if the TAG believes that a tech lead is needed that would be useful feedback.
Rosie: Community manager has also been a crucial aid to keeping Islandora running and being aware of what various institutions were doing with Islandora.
